hp wrap up header - September 12

HP Families,

As we wrap up this week at HP,  our Annual Turkey Drive had tremendous participation. We had asked for all bags to be dropped off TODAY, as we are making a trip to Newark on Monday morning. If you still have a bag to drop off, it needs to be at HP by 8:45a.m. on Monday, November 24th. There is still time to send back the paper turkey feathers with $1.

Big Shout Out to Mr. Mark Torrie in our Physical Education Department. This weekend, he  will be inducted into the Bergen County Boys Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame! Way to go Mr. Torrie!

This week, 6th graders had a visit from NVOT Heroes & Cool Kids. Many of the student facilitators are HP Alumni. The student-run sessions focused on life skills, including sportsmanship, conflict resolution, and positive choices. The goal of Heroes & Cool Kids is to promote pro-social behavior in students and to create a caring and disciplined school climate.

As temperatures outside have gotten colder, please be mindful that we look to get students out for recess if the weather is above 32 degrees. We remind students to wear all outerwear items they were sent to school with and if parents can reinforce that message, it is helpful.  For the morning lineup, we also use the 32 degree mark and we always take wind chill into consideration. Thank you for your help!

-Please see the 6th Grade TREPS Information Attached.

In yesterday's debate at NVOT, the Harrington Park team continued to shine. Great job to our first time debaters!  Congratulations to the following teams for winning their debates: Roy Jang and Arsh Nadguada, Noah Ahn and Elisha Kim, Shael Kim and Jiyoo Choi, Rayna Nadguada and Ava Russo, and Hailee Choi and Claire Ra. Way to go, HP! Reminder, there is a debate meeting after school today.
