First HP "Future Fair" was a Huge Success! Our 8th-grade students had an amazing opportunity to explore a variety of career paths and industries, thanks to our fantastic HP parents and community members. Students rotated through different stations based on their interests and participated in mock interviews, gaining valuable insights for their future careers. A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers for dedicating their time and effort with our students! Special shoutout to Ms. Colon and Ms. Weber for their incredible preparation and planning leading up to this dynamic event!

In Music News, Harrington Park had eight students audition for the Region Orchestra on Saturday, and four were accepted into the group: Henry Oh on violin, Jiyoo Choi on cello, Ian Kang on bass, and Ethan Kang on bass.  All the students who auditioned worked incredibly hard and did an excellent job!  Students who will participate in the regional orchestra will have the opportunity to practice and perform a concert with other middle school musicians from Northern NJ. If you see any of our amazing string players, please give them a big congratulations!

Grade 2 HSA Game Night was extremely successful. A big thank you to the Mavromihalis Family, who generously donated $100 worth of Dunkin' Donuts gift cards for our game night! On January 23rd, Grade 3 will host in the APR.

Sports:

The Girls' Basketball Team won against Closter on Tuesday, 50 to 32, to continue their undefeated season. Eden Canarick led the team with 10 points, Paige Palmer, Sophie Donnelly, and Addison Beezer all had 6, Paige Radoian had 4, Ava Topple scored 3, and Quinn Hutchinson, Ayzah Malik, Tierney Waldron, Emilia Rossi, and Teagan Devaney all scored 2 points. Delaney Saland, Ava Hwang, Hudson Jacobs and Mia Roche all played aggressively on defense to help the team succeed. The Spartans will play again on Monday at Norwood!

The Boys Basketball Team had a competitive week on the court, earning an exciting 44–29 victory over Demarest before dropping a hard-fought contest to first-place Closter. Against Demarest, the Spartans played outstanding defense, using a full-court press to force turnovers and create easy scoring opportunities, allowing them to pull ahead in the second quarter. Ethan Strate led the way with a season-high 26 points. In their matchup with Closter, the Spartans stayed within striking distance throughout the game and were locked in a tight battle until the final few minutes, but were ultimately unable to overcome Closter’s size and skill. Strong team defense, patience on offense, and consistent three-point shooting kept the game close before Closter converted a few timely baskets to pull away. The Spartans return to action next Tuesday and Wednesday at home against Norwood and OT.
