The softball team started their season strong this week with back-to-back games on Monday and Tuesday, earning two exciting wins under the leadership of captains Paige Radoian and Quinn Hutchinson. The season opener against Closter featured an outstanding performance by Paige Radoian, who pitched a complete game with an impressive 15 strikeouts. The first inning set the tone, with Radoian allowing just one single before striking out three batters in a row. Offensively, Olive Schryver got things started with a home run in the first inning, while key hits from Paige Radoian, Quinn Hutchinson, and Ava Hwang helped secure a 7–1 victory. The team carried that momentum into Tuesday’s game. Olive Schryver took the mound with her twin sister, Leighton Schryver, behind the plate. After falling behind 2–0 early, the team responded immediately with five runs of their own. Olive showed composure under pressure, getting out of a bases-loaded situation without allowing any runs. In the fourth inning, with the bases loaded, Olive sealed the game with a grand slam, ending it by mercy rule with a final score of 17–7. Defensively, Paige Radoian at second base and Ava Hwang at first base demonstrated excellent communication and execution. Additional standout hits came from Emily Arad, Quinn Hutchinson, and Leighton Schryver. Across both games, the team displayed smart baserunning, aggressive swings, and strong defensive play. The girls now head into spring break undefeated and will resume their season after the break with an away game at Demarest.

The Baseball Team got their season started this past week with two very tough opening games. Although the results against Closter and Old Tappan were not what the team wanted, there were many bright spots as the season will get into full gear after spring break. The boys will play at Demarest on Monday, home against Norwood, and home versus Haworth after break.
